On Tuesday 26th May 2026, Sheffield General Cemetery turns 190, and we’re marking the occasion with a special long weekend of events celebrating our history, landscape and community.
Across the May Bank Holiday weekend and May Half Term, the Cemetery will come alive with a rich programme of tours, talks, performances and events.

Throughout the 190th birthday weekend, the Samuel Worth Chapel will also host a café, bookstall and People Power Exhibition, open 10.00am-4.00pm each day, so you can explore our history, discover our stories and learn more about our future plans.
