What’s on

The Trust hosts around 50 public activities each year focusing on the Cemetery’s history and its natural environment. We are fortunate to have a range of keen amateurs and experts who volunteer their time to lead these events, supported by volunteers who help organise and ensure that they run as smoothly as possible.

If you want to get a good grounding in the Cemetery’s history we recommend attending one of our regular history walks on the 1st Sunday of each month. For most of our events we suggest a minimum donation of £5 to help support the running of the Trust and its activities. Unless otherwise indicated, the meeting place for our events is The Gatehouse at the end of Cemetery Avenue, off Ecclesall Road.

The fully accessible Samuel Worth Chapel has a fully licensced cafe selling local beers, wine, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks. Our cafe/ bar is open for most events we hold.  We accept card payments and all bar proceeds go towards the work of Sheffield General Cemetery Trust.
