Harris Yeomans was a member of the South African Constabulary, a paramilitary force set up in 1900 under British Army control to police areas captured from the Boer republics during the Second Boer War. The war ended in 1902, and the force disbanded a few years later. Harris would have been a volunteer. He died at Heidelberg Field Hospital and is buried in Heidelberg Cemetery. Harris Yeomans is commemorated on plot Z 165 in the Nonconformist area of the Cemetery.
