Sheffield General Cemetery Trust is delighted to announce the launch of a new monthly Supper Club with Sheffield-based social enterprise Ammi’s Kitchen.
The Supper Club aims to bring people together through food, culture and shared experience in the unique surroundings of Sheffield General Cemetery. Set within the historic Samuel Worth Chapel, the evenings will offer guests the chance to enjoy delicious seasonal meals while connecting with the stories and communities that make Sheffield so vibrant.
Ammi’s Kitchen works to transform women’s authentic culinary skills into paid employment opportunities, bringing together local women from different cultural backgrounds to cook and share recipes passed down through generations. Each dish reflects personal heritage, family tradition and the rich diversity of Sheffield’s communities.
By attending the Supper Club, guests will not only enjoy a thoughtfully prepared meal, but also help support migrant women to access paid work and reduce barriers to employment. At the same time, ticket income contributes to the ongoing work of Sheffield General Cemetery Trust, helping care for this historic landscape, protect its heritage and keep it open as a welcoming green space for the city.
The Trust hopes the Supper Club will become a regular feature of the Cemetery’s events programme, offering a new way for people to experience the site while supporting both local communities and the charity’s work.
