Join us this Remembrance Sunday for a FREE walking tour of Sheffield General Cemetery, pausing for a two-minute silence at the Cemetery’s War Memorial to honour the millions who died or were wounded during the World Wars I & II and in more recent conflicts.
After the tour, light refreshments will be served in the Samuel Worth Chapel, where you’ll also find our history books on sale, including A Life Too Soon Done – a moving account of the lives of the men connected to the Cemetery who lost their lives in World War I.
Event Details
- Location: The Gatehouse, Cemetery Avenue, Sheffield, S11 8NT
- Accessibility: The historic nature of the site and the sloping landscape mean that not all spaces are fully accessible. Paths may be uneven and there are steps on some paths. Find out more here.
- Tickets: All tickets are sold online via Ticketsource. No tickets are available on the door.
- Please note, there is no minimum age but the tour is aimed at adults and is more suitable for children aged over 11. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Dogs are welcome but should be kept on a lead at all times.
- Sensible footwear required.
