A guided tour for children ages 8- 16  around Sheffield General Cemetery about people who came from all over the world and found work in Sheffield industries.

Some of the most impressive monuments in Sheffield General Cemetery belong to those who made their money from industry in Sheffield, particularly the metal-working industries. However, often unseen are the countless Sheffield men, women and children who worked in these industries. Many of those buried came from all over the world and found work in Sheffield industries.  The industrial products people made in Sheffield also had global connections in trade and colonial routes across the world.
Join us to hear the about the people who came to Sheffield and how they became a vital part of Sheffield’s industrial past. Learn how Sheffield was built by many communities and people over history, which has an important legacy in the city it is today.
