This May, Keystones Piano Festival returns for a week of piano music in the historic Samuel Worth Chapel thanks to the loan of a Steinway grand piano from Music in the Round. Featuring a varied lineup of contemporary and classical compositions, this celebration of piano offers an intimate and atmospheric experience in our unique heritage setting.

On Saturday, we welcome Simeon Walker… Leeds-based pianist and composer Simeon Walker is a leading voice in the modern classical scene, known for his emotive, minimalist compositions and quietly powerful performances. His music – delicate, expansive and deeply immersive – has resonated with audiences across the UK and Europe.

A regular on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, Simeon’s work has amassed over 45 million streams, with his piece Reveriefeatured on the official Piano Day compilation alongside artists such as Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds. He has toured extensively and supported acclaimed acts including Neil Cowley, Erland Cooper and LYR (the project of Simon Armitage), as well as performing at festivals including Latitude, Timber and the Edinburgh Fringe.

An in-demand collaborator, Simeon’s work spans music, film, dance and visual art – creating rich, interdisciplinary performances that are both intimate and expansive.

Join us for a spellbinding evening of contemporary piano in the round – reflective, transportive, and deeply moving.
