Keystones Piano Festival Presents Isabel & Emily Chaplais
This May, Keystones Piano Festival returns for a week of week of music in the round in the historic Samuel Worth Chapel. Featuring a varied lineup of contemporary and classical compositions, this celebration of piano offers an intimate and atmospheric experience in our unique heritage setting.
On Thursday, enjoy an intimate violin and piano recital from two highly accomplished performers with deep roots in Sheffield’s musical life.
Pianist Isabel Hespe (née Chaplais) is an award-winning performer and graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, where she completed both undergraduate and postgraduate study. A versatile musician equally at home in solo, chamber and concerto repertoire, Isabel has performed at major venues including the Barbican, Bridgewater Hall and Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre, as well as appearing on BBC broadcasts.
She is joined by violinist Emily Chaplais, a Sheffield-based freelance musician who performs regularly with leading orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, CBSO and Opera North. A seasoned orchestral player, Emily has appeared at venues such as Symphony Hall Birmingham and the Bridgewater Hall, and has taken part in BBC Proms performances, Radio 3 broadcasts and international tours.
Together, they present an evening of richly expressive music for violin and piano, performed with skill, warmth and musical insight.
