Griffin & Collier Plus Emily Keeble
Griffin and Collier are a new folk duo from Kate Griffin and Ford Collier, the creative force behind the critically acclaimed global folk band Mishra. Known for award-winning collaborations spanning traditions from around the world, they now turn towards a more intimate sound rooted in the folk music of the British Isles and America.
Their music is driven by exceptional instrumental skill and adventurous arranging. Kate’s boundary-pushing clawhammer banjo draws on the earthy tones of old-time Americana, while Ford’s expressive Irish low whistle is shaped by contemporary pioneers such as Brian Finnegan and Michael McGoldrick. Together, they create a dynamic tapestry that shifts from hypnotic banjo and driving guitar rhythms to flowing, intricately reimagined whistle tunes, tracing the continuing journey of traditional music across time and place.
Support comes from Emily Keeble, whose songs explore memory, love and landscape. Inherently political and rooted in nature, her work draws on folklore and immersive textures to create intimate performances that feel both tender and powerful.
