DOOT & J2Duo
Sheffield General Cemetery Trust is delighted to welcome two exciting young acts to the atmospheric Samuel Worth Chapel for an evening of contemporary music.
DOOT is a Sheffield based duo specialising in baritone saxophone and bass clarinet. Kirsten Beveridge and Henry McNamara met at the University of Sheffield and have quickly establish themselves on the local and national classical music scene, performing at Sheffield Cathedral, Firth Hall, Leah’s Yard and even the World Snooker Championship. Champions of new music, the duo have commissioned and premiered multiple original works and this autumn embark on a tour of UK cathedrals.
Joining them are J2Duo – Josh Hughes and Joel Redfern, a young guitar duo from the North of England who met at the Royal Northern College of Music, where they studied under internationally renowned classical guitarist Craig Ogden. With a wide-ranging repertoire spanning Debussy to Piazzolla and a growing following of a quarter of a million views across social media, J2Duo bring a fresh energy to everything they play.
Together, they promise a fantastic evening in one of Sheffield’s most intimate settings.
