190th Birthday Celebrations | Community Picnic & Live Music

As part of our 190th birthday celebrations, Sheffield General Cemetery Trust invites you to join us for a relaxed and joyful Community Picnic in the beautiful surroundings of the Cemetery.

Bring along your picnic, a blanket and your family/friends, and enjoy a day of live music, heritage and community in one of Sheffield’s most unique green spaces. Throughout the day, we’ll be hosting vibrant performances from Sheffield Samba Band, Blue Seven Jazz and Unbeatable Energy Drummers, filling the site with rhythm, energy and atmosphere.

Alongside the music, you can explore the Cemetery’s rich history by booking onto our History Tour or Hidden Histories Tour, offering fascinating insights into the people and stories connected to the site.

Throughout the 190th birthday weekend, the Samuel Worth Chapel will also host a café, bookstall and People Power exhibition, open 10.00am-4.00pm each day, so you can explore our history, discover our stories and learn more about our future plans.
