Join us for an intimate evening in the cosy surroundings of Sexton’s Lodge, the historic gatehouse of Sheffield General Cemetery, as we welcome Andrew Littlewood, researcher and author of Sweet Remembrance: The Confectioners of Sheffield General Cemetery.
Limited to just six guests, this special event offers a rare opportunity to meet the author in person and hear the stories behind Andrew’s fascinating book.
Andrew will reveal the hidden, and sometimes secret, stories behind the graves of those who helped shape Britain’s confectionery industry. From local entrepreneurs and master sweet-makers to the rise of nationally renowned brands, these tales uncover Sheffield’s surprising links to a much-loved part of our social history. Discover how Andrew’s meticulous research brought these forgotten stories to light, and enjoy the chance to ask questions, share memories and come away with your own signed copy of the book.
Tickets include a signed copy of the book and a couple of glasses of wine to enjoy as you listen. A perfect evening for history lovers, readers and anyone interested in Sheffield’s rich and inspiring past.
