Mr Vast

Step into the Samuel Worth Chapel and the surreal world of Mr Vast – the genre-defying alter ego of Henry Sargeant, frontman of the legendary Wevie Stonder, once dubbed by the BBC as “the Monty Python of electronic music.”
Part slapstick cabaret, part avant-garde concert, part ecstatic ritual, Mr Vast’s one-man shows resist definition. Expect anarchic comedy, bizarre costumes, surreal characters, and a wild fusion of musical influences that transform the stage into something between a carnival and a fever dream.
Drawing on traditions as diverse as English music hall, the Theatre of the Absurd, international folk ritual, and electronic experimentation, Mr Vast is both shamanic compère and tragicomic clown. His performances break down the barriers between artist and audience, creating shared moments of chaos, laughter, and catharsis.
With a global following devoted to his eccentric vision, Mr Vast carries the torch of the Great English Eccentric firmly into the 21st century. Prepare for an unpredictable evening of inspired lyricism, absurdist theatre, and off-kilter electronica in one of Sheffield’s most atmospheric venues.
