As part of Heritage Open Days, join Trustee of Sheffield General Cemetery Trust, Catie Evans, and Buildings Volunteer, Phil Parnham, for a behind-the-scenes look at the remarkable restoration of the Samuel Worth Chapel.

This engaging talk will take you through the Chapel’s fascinating history, from its original design by architect Samuel Worth to its years of decline and disrepair. Discover the challenges and triumphs of bringing this Grade II* listed nonconformist chapel back to life – from conserving its historic fabric to sensitively introducing modern facilities that make it a vibrant cultural venue today.

Catie and Phil will share insights into the painstaking restoration process, the surprises uncovered along the way, and the collaborative efforts of volunteers, contractors, and heritage specialists who made the project possible.

Set in the very building whose transformation is being discussed, this free event is a unique opportunity to learn how heritage conservation breathes new life into Sheffield’s historic spaces while preserving their character for future generations.
