Access Information
The historic nature of the site and the sloping landscape mean that not all spaces are fully accessible. Paths may be uneven and there are steps on some paths.
- There are three blue badge parking spaces at the Gatehouse Entrance, The Gatehouse, Cemetery Avenue, Sheffield, S11 8NT. W3W cure.axed.assets
- There is a tactile map just inside the Cemetery Gatehouse entrance on the right-hand side of the path.
- There are no public toilets on site. There are accessible toilets in the Gatehouse and Samuel Worth Chapel which are only open during public events at the Chapel or when the office is open on most Tuesdays and Fridays.
- The Main Carriageway from the Gatehouse to the Samuel Worth Chapel has step free access and a handrail to guide you to the venue. The path is around 200m long and is a moderate slope up to the venue.
- There is accessible drop off space for those attending events at the Samuel Worth Chapel. W3W volume.loud.nights. If you are unable to walk through the Cemetery to access The Samuel Worth Chapel please email [email protected] with ‘SWC VECHICLE ACCESS REQUEST’ in the subject line. Cars must then be taken off site during the event and may be brought back on at the end to collect the person(s). This drop off / collection arrangement must be booked in advance as there are bollards that need to be removed.
- There is an accessibility ramp and one accessible toilet at the Samuel Worth Chapel. These are open during public events.
- During night-time events only there are low level lights which guide you to the Samuel Worth Chapel.
- The Cemetery is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There is a site map on our website. Steep or stepped paths are indicated by a pink highlight. Map – gencem.org/visit/map/
