Cemetery Sessions Present Juliana Day, Resonant Bodies  & Manon McCoy

Juliana Day
Juliana’s music uses a haunting combination of the lower family of recorders, whistles, vocalisations, found sounds and field recordings, building up looped layers and ambient, improvised textures. Described as “utterly, soul wrenchingly beautiful” (Joyzine), her music  takes influence from choral music, folk music, minimalism and artists such as Tim Hecker, Kali Malone, Steve Reich, Ichiko Aoba, William Basinski and Pauline Oliveros.

Resonant Bodies
Resonant Bodies are an improvising duo made up of Rob Bentall (nyckelharpa) and Zebedee Budworth (hammered dulcimer). They love mediaeval music and minimalism, and their playing pulls on these musical threads. Their improvisations can feel like a white-knuckle ride, the duo working themselves up to a pace they can barely hold. Earlier in 2024, they performed at Sonorities Festival (Belfast) and Gwyl Ffynnon Garon (Wales).

Manon McCoy
Manon McCoy(she/her) is an experimental harpist and composer based in the North. Her work is focused on pushing the boundaries of contemporary harp through developing DIY and accessible approaches to live-electronics. Manon is particularly interested in the uses of spaces both musical and physical, designing pieces that rework the performer-audience dynamic. She performs in Sheffield-based duo ‘Balo’ who create site-specific installations for harp drums and electronics. Manon is also a member of Emergence Collective.

£12 plus booking fee.
