Christmas with Sonority

Presented in our usual Sonority way, the concert promises to surround you with lush harmonies and soaring descants and fill you with a festive glow.

Embracing winter and Christmas songs old and new, adorning them with lush harmonies and soaring descants, Sheffield’s finest upper-voice chamber choir, Sonority, will bring a sparkling freshness to your celebrations.

Surrounded by the magical, candlelit Samuel Worth Chapel, the concert will be moving, uplifting and a thoroughly captivating experience.

The performance will include new, beautiful arrangements of some well-known favorites, including ‘Stille Nacht’, ‘Veni, Veni Emmanuel’ and ‘Angel Gabriel’. The programme celebrates new, local and female composers. This intimate concert promises to fill you with warmth and a festive glow. All accompanied by traditional festive refreshments.

Sonority was formed in 2019 and brings together some of the finest upper-voices in Sheffield. The choir is dedicated to exploring the wealth of music written for upper-voices. Sonority embraces a range of genres to create programmes that can span nine centuries and will excite audiences and reflect the passions of the singers. We aim to give upper-voice music, female composers and female conductors a platform.
