The launch of her new EP Hold.
Hold is the debut EP from Sheffield based, Bristol born songwriter Teah Lewis.
The 4-track EP explores the push and pull of love and codependency, taking the listener on a cyclical journey to the emotional beyond and back. Musically, the EP explores folk, pop and ambient sounds and this very special performance will feature live strings, brass and more to create a fully immersive experience of this debut body of work from Teah Lewis, within the characterful backdrop of the chapel.
‘Teah is a cut above the rest in the singer-songwriter space today’ (Michael Sanford, Pink Wafer)2022 saw performances at Tramlines Festival, Long Division and Live at Leeds. On Friday 12th August she supported Richard Hawley at his sold out Leadmill Residency and was featured in Christian Carlisle’s Top 50 songs on BBC Introducing Sheffield for the second year running with EP track ‘Anymore’. 2022 saw regular features on BBC Introducing and features on Chill playlists on Amazing radio.
In 2022, Teah started with a bang setting off on her co-headline February Big Adventure Tour visiting London, Sofar Sounds Hull, Sheffield, Liverpool Bloombuilding and The Bunker, Sunderland. She also performed at Sheffield Cathedral on behalf of Sheffield Adventure Film Festival as well as live dates at Gullivers Manchester and Square Chapel Halifax in December.
On March 31st 2023, she will release her debut EP ‘Hold’. Singles, ‘Building a Home’ and ‘Anymore’ are both singles from this body of work and available online now. With every release from this EP, Teah is continuing to explore and expand her sound, so expect to hear multi-layered vocals and electronic textures supported by a line up of exciting collaborators in both live and recorded work. Title track Hold, released 24th Feb is out now on all streaming platforms and available to purchase on Bandcamp.
Supporting will be Mouse Teeth, treating us to their first Sheffield performance of the year. Mouse Teeth (AKA Nancy Dawkins) ‘combines elements of grunge, art rock and poetry.
